Startup Visa Program
A platform where companies could display their endorsement in the form of badges
Letter of Support Approval Date
Introduction:
The Responder Assistance Project is owned by Jane Doe who contacted our team in January 2023 to design a directory of the businesses that support first responders. The idea was to establish a website where companies could display their endorsement in the form of badges, make donations and provide food that fit into the concept of healthy eating.

Problem Statement:
Jane wanted to create a solid solution where the businesses themselves could register their membership plans and generate profiles for providing special discounts for first responders. Also, the platform needed to support multiple business categories and enable customers to submit leads.
Project Journey and Timeline:
- 12/01/2023 - Project Inception: Detailed requirements were gathered based on consultations with Jane. Several primary characteristics and performances were defined and described.
- 25/01/2023 - Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Detailed requirements were gathered based on consultations with Jane. Several primary characteristics and performances were defined and described.
- 10/02/2023 - Design Phase: Both the wireframes and prototypes of the platforms were developed. Jane was consulted over designs and these approvals and reviews were attained.
- 05/03/2023 - Development Phase: The development of the platform was initiated with PHP. The key features such as, business sign up, profile creation and the coupon system were developed.
- 28/04/2023 - Testing Phase: As mentioned earlier, a vigorous test was carried out since the software was required to be tested for functionality and vulnerabilities. User testing was also conducted with a limited number of people known as beta testers
- 21/06/2023 - Deployment Phase: The platform was successfully deployed. Jane and her team received training sessions and documentation.
- 10/07/2023 - Present: Maintenance and Support: The support has been provided and regular updates have been made. Based on the results, users’ feedback has been taken into consideration to enhance the platform.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
We had several consultations with Jane to better grasp her ideas and what she wants and needs. Key features identified included:
Design Phase:
Accordingly, we developed a simple and, at the same time, clear menu to be easily comprehensible for both business entities and emergency services. We established wireframes and prototypes to which Jane reacted positively by approving them.
Development and Implementation:
Using PHP, we developed the directory, focusing on the following features
Incorporated a subscription-based service for business coupled with safe payment embedding.
Allowed the development of detailed business profiles, including support badges.
Developed the functionality for businesses to post and control discount coupons.
Restaurants could also have badges indicating that the food options are healthy.
Included additional business categories, including Automotive & Transportation, Education & Childcare, and others.
Implemented a system that allows the businesses to get leads from the customers.
Testing:
There were also separate pre-testing and post-testing done to test its functionality, effectiveness, and security. We conducted unit testing as well as integration testing and user acceptance testing with a beta set of users.
Deployment:
In June 2023 the directory was successfully deployed. Jane and her team were trained for the proper management of the platform through conducting training sessions as well as developing documentation.
Maintenance and Support:
After the released version, we provided ongoing assistance for any problems and updating of the application according to user’s feedback. Proper updating and maintenance also helped to keep the platform in the best condition possible.
Results and Conclusion:
The directory for the Responder Assistance Project was well received by business and even the first responders. More than half a hundred businesses registered within the first three months, and they were able to use the application for claiming discounts and promoting healthy meals. Jane was glad with the outcome as the directory review boosted recognition of enterprises aiding first responders.
PHP was used to achieve Jane’s goal while creating a solution that is not only effective but also serves a greater purpose of supporting first responders’ health.
